All children enrolled in the STRIDE Learning Center facility-based program
are required to have the minimum immunizations required by State Law. The State
of Wyoming health form must be completed before a child can attend school.
III children will not be admitted to the school, both for the child's well being
and for the protection of other children. A child may not attend school when any
of the following symptoms are evident: diarrhea, two or more episodes of
vomiting within twenty-four hours, elevated oral temperature of I00 degrees F or
over, difficult or rapid breathing, yellowish eyes or skin, untreated head lice,
untreated pinkeye, untreated scabies, skin rashes (excluding diaper rash)
lasting longer than one day, a cold less than three days old, sore throat with a
fever, severe coughing, severe pain or discomfort, swollen joints or visibly
enlarged lymph nodes, blood in urine and other conditions as may be determined
by the Director or RN on an individual basis. Children suspected of being in
contagious stages of chicken pox, pertussis measles, mumps, rubella or
diphtheria will not be admitted. If a child becomes ill during the day, or is
sent to the school with any of the above symptoms, the child will be isolated,
and the parent will be contacted and required to pick up the child immediately
according to the Department of Family Services licensing standards.
When communicable diseases occur at the school, parents of exposed children will
be immediately notified by the staff. In return, please notify the school when a
child has been exposed to any contagious disease. After a child has had a
reportable communicable disease, the child can return to school only upon
written approval of the attending physician. A list of reportable diseases is
available in the administrative office.
In the event of an accident or medical emergency, first aid treatment will be
administered, parents contacted, and an accident form completed. In case of an
emergency in which the parents cannot be reached, the individual identified as
the emergency contact will be notified. In instances of imminent health risk,
911 will be called, and children will be taken to United Medical West.
